The Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting published a report on World Lion Day revealing that around 10,000 lions have been shot since Cecil was killed in 2015, with two-thirds reared in captivity to be hunted in fenced-in areas.

The report exposes some of the world’s leading trophy hunters and the extraordinary awards given to those who shoot the most lions and other animals, while also featuring accounts from trophy hunters themselves describing the ‘thrill’ they experience when shooting these magnificent animals.
